Frank Gore, Carlos Hyde's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 12
On the heels of two straight weeks with double-digit points, Frank Gore was stymied in Week 12 for fantasy owners. He was kept out of the end zone against the Washington Redskins while Carlos Hyde scored his fourth touchdown of the season.
The Redskins rushing defense came in 11th in the NFL in yards per game (104.2) and had allowed just six touchdowns on the year. Washington was able to keep both running backs in check while Anquan Boldin went off in the passing game.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Gore was coming off a game in which he had 114 total yards but simply couldn't get anything going against Washington. The 2.8 yards per carry was his fourth-lowest output of the season with the 36 total yards marking his third-lowest.
Sharing the backfield was Hyde, who did the most with his limited carries on the afternoon. The lone rushing touchdown for the Niners was a critical one, as Cam Inman of The Mercury News points out:
Hyde only received seven total carries, but the red-zone touch was important for fantasy owners. His numbers this season might not make him a must-add player, but he has a bright future, as Albert Breer of NFL.com notes:
While Gore is certainly still the back to own for now, keeper and dynasty league owners will want to add Hyde to the roster soon. Putting it simply, Gore is 31, and Hyde looks like the future for the Niners.
The next matchup for San Francisco is at home against the division-rival Seattle Seahawks. Gore has a chance to silence doubters against Seattle as he rushed for 110 yards the last time they played in San Francisco.
