Bayern Munich Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of November 24

Stefan BienkowskiNov 24, 2014

The Champions League may await Bayern Munich this coming week, with a trip to Manchester City on the not-so-distant horizon, yet one could forgive the Bavarian club for being in a somewhat relaxed mood.

Beating Hoffenheim 4-0 on Saturday meant short work was made of the weekend's troubles, while struggling league rivals Borussia Dortmund stumbled away to Paderborn. Bayern are simply coasting in the Bundesliga and it isn't even Christmas.

However, winter is approaching, and with it comes the January transfer window and all of its temptations and drama. Bayern may be on track right now, but that doesn't mean they'll remain quiet over the next few months.

Here are all the transfer rumours for the week of November 24.

Last updated: Monday, November 24.

Shaqiri/Herrera Swap

1 of 2

In one of the odder rumours of the season thus far, Bayern's Xherdan Shaqiri has apparently attracted the interest of Louis van Gaal and his side, Manchester United

After struggling to break into the first team, the Switzerland international could be on his way to Manchester with midfielder Ander Herrera going the other way, according to Anthony Chapman in the Express.

Shaqiri has made little effort to hide his intention to leave Bayern if he can't find his way into the starting XI. In an interview with Switzerland's Blick newspaper, reported by Sky Sports on November 13, he said:

"

I wanted a move in the summer, of course, but the club made their decision and I've just got to live with it.

I just felt after the World Cup that it would be better for me to try something new.

I thought about moving and I had lots of enquiries, but Bayern decided that I had to stay and you can't do much about that as a player.

"

But is Manchester United the ideal destination? We await to see.

Sami Khedira

The news that Sami Khedira may be on his way to Bayern slammed down upon the Internet late last week after a relatively quiet few weeks for the club on the transfer front.

The Germany international has been linked with the Bundesliga champions from time to time, yet the British press decided to jump upon reports from Spain that suggested he was about to sign a pre-contract agreement with Bayern.

As reported in The Independent on November 20, an unsourced report by Cadena SER stated that the midfielder had agreed to join Guardiola's side over Chelsea and Arsenal

The Daily Mail ran an interesting line that very day, stating that Bayern were favourites to win the midfielder's signature, but Real Madrid were now determined to keep him following the long-term injury to Luka Modric.

The rumours were then brought back down to earth when Bayern’s sporting director, Markus Horwick, stated that the stories were made up.

As reported on Eurosport on November 21, Horwick said: “The rumours are 0 per cent real.”

For now, it would seem as though Khedira is still very much a Madrid player.
