Lewan Questionable for Week 17

Terry McCormick of 247 Sports has an update on Lewan's status:

"

It seems like a long shot with perhaps some coachspeak thrown in, but Tennessee Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt did not rule out having rookies Taylor Lewan and Zach Mettenberger active for Sunday's season finale against the Colts.

Both players are listed as questionable and did not do much during the open parts of practice this week, but Whisenhunt won't rule either one out yet, though neither would seem likely to play Sunday.

“We'll see where it is Sunday and we'll see where we are as a team. In the last few weeks, we've had available spots just because of the health situations,” Whisenhunt said. “We'll see how it plays out.”

Lewan has been out for four straight games with a high ankle sprain.

“I feel good. My ankle feels better than it has,” Lewan said Friday. “It's just one of those game-time decisions. Coach Whiz is my boss and I'll just do what he says.”

Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean reported that the rookie exited the game and was escorted back to the locker room on a medical cart:

The Tennessean's John Glennon reported that Lewan's return was questionable, which could at least signify that the injury may not be too serious:

The Titans are already out of the playoff hunt, so losing Lewan wouldn't have much of an impact in terms of what Tennessee can possibly accomplish this year. However, it's never good to watch your first-round draft pick go down with an injury.
