Doug Martin, Charles Sims, Bobby Rainey's Post-Week 12 Fantasy Reaction
Ugh.
That's pretty much how you should feel about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers backfield and the fantasy prospects of Doug Martin, Charles Sims and Bobby Rainey at this point. The carousal in the backfield continues to turn. On Sunday, it was Martin who was featured as the lead back against the Chicago Bears.
He didn't exactly look the part, however, as Tampa's backfield in general failed to produce much. At this point, the Bucs seem far better off throwing the football than running it.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
| Charles Sims | 6 | 22 | 2 | 11 | 0 | 3 |
| Doug Martin | 11 | 27 | 1 | 4 | 0 | 2 |
| Bobby Rainey | 1 | 3 | 4 | 18 | 0 | 1 |
And that means it's hard to recommend any of the team's running back as a viable fantasy starter. For the moment, it would appear that Martin is the player you want to own out of this trio, but he's hardly inspired this year and has also struggled to stay healthy.
You're better off starting players other than these three. Unless a clear starter emerges and actually produces, all three deserve a spot on your bench each week. Even desperate owners can probably find a better option at the position than Martin, Sims or Rainey.
Hit me up on Twitter—I'll answer your fantasy questions and make some corny jokes, too. It's more fun than imagining what Mike Evans will do for an encore after his monstrous rookie season.
