NFL Scores Week 12: Results and Top Fantasy Football Stars for Sunday Games

R. Cory SmithNov 23, 2014

It's been a wild fantasy football season already, and Week 12 of the 2014 NFL schedule only solidified that for owners.

Some of the biggest stars were held in check while others continued sensational seasons. T.Y. Hilton shined on a special day as he snagged another touchdown and went over 100 yards.

Josh Gordon was also unleashed for the Cleveland Browns and finished with 12 fantasy points in his first game back. It wasn't quite the 146 yards and one touchdown he had in his return last year, but it was a solid day for his owners.

Top Fantasy Performers from Week 12

Tom Brady, QB, New England Patriots

The perceived fall of Tom Brady earlier this season hasn't quite happened—in fantasy or reality.

Tommy Terrific had another standout game for the New England Patriots against a stout Detroit Lions defense. After starting the season with just one touchdown in every game for the first four weeks, Brady now has multiple touchdowns in seven consecutive games.

His 22 touchdowns since Week 4 have been thanks to his general effectiveness in the red zone. Mike Reiss of ESPN.com passed along a ridiculous stat about the quarterback during his career:

Brady continues to amaze after a slow start and has a favorable matchup in Week 13. Going against the Green Bay Packers defense, expect Brady to continue his sensational streak prior to the fantasy playoffs.

Peyton Manning later overtook Brady with his four-touchdown outing to throttle the Miami Dolphins. Then again, when is Manning not featured as one of the top quarterbacks in fantasy?

Eddie Lacy, RB, Green Bay Packers

Much like Brady, fantasy owners began to question earlier this season if Eddie Lacy would ever bounce back. Also like Brady, he's been dominant over the last several weeks.

The Green Bay Packers' lead back peaked against the Minnesota Vikings with 138 total yards and two touchdowns. That was good for his highest point total this season with 25.8—his previous high was against Minnesota in Week 5.

Lacy destroying the Vikings has become a trend, as ESPN Stats & Info notes:

It apparently was a day where Lacy was not feeling 100 percent either, despite the huge performance. Packers offensive lineman Josh Sitton spoke about Lacy's performance, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com:

If that's what owners can get out of Lacy when he's not feeling well, the fantasy playoffs might be terrifying. Going against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 14 and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 16, Lacy's name might be on this list again very soon.

T.Y. Hilton, WR, Indianapolis Colts

It was already a memorable day for Hilton that turned out spectacular with his performance.

Hilton's wife gave birth to a daughter on Sunday morning, via Matthew Glenesk of The Indianapolis Star. He then promptly went out and blew up the Jacksonville Jaguars with 137 total yards and a huge touchdown.

The 73-yard score was simply living up to his promise to his daughter, via his agent, Erik Burkhardt:

He was already carrying fantasy teams throughout the season but experienced a down week against the New England Patriots. Let's just say he's completely back and might be even better with more rest in Week 13.

Demaryius Thomas later had a three-touchdown game against the Dolphins to surpass Hilton on the day. However, taking Hilton out of this story is simply something I'm not comfortable doing.

Timothy Wright, TE, New England Patriots

Another week, another breakout performance from a Patriots tight end. Only this time, it was Timothy Wright who saw the red-zone targets.

Wright had a season-high 60 snaps on Sunday against the Detroit Lions and made the most of his opportunity. A week after catching his fourth touchdown of the season, Wright had his first game with two on the year.

Matt Miller of Bleacher Report passed along his thoughts on Wright's day:

He wasn't necessarily unwanted by his former team, but he is shining for the Pats like LeGarrette Blount. Wright still isn't one of the most dependable tight ends in the league, but he has a chance to break out any week for New England.
