WWE Survivor Series 2014: Bold Predictions for Massive Showcase

The Doctor Chris MuellerNov 23, 2014

Despite having no WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, there is still a lot at stake at this year's Survivor Series.

The second longest-running pay-per-view in WWE will see John Cena captain a team against a group assembled by The Authority, with the losing team putting their careers on the line.

For The Authority, this means risking their power. For Team Cena, this means their jobs. No matter who wins, the fallout will be huge.

The traditional Elimination Match is the main event, but there are other bouts to look forward to as well, especially the showdown between Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose.

We will also see AJ Lee defend her title against Nikki Bella, Gold and Stardust put their tag team belts on the line against three other teams and the return of Fandango.

This slideshow will look at each match that is scheduled to take place on Sunday and predict who will walk out of Survivor Series a winner and who will leave with a set of steak knives.

Fandango vs. TBA

1 of 6

Fandango has been scheduled to perform on the Survivor Series Kickoff for a little while, but no opponent has been announced for him.

When looking at the recent events in WWE, there are only a few possible choices outside of someone really low on the card who will job to the dancer.

Adam Rose seems the most likely candidate for a few reason. First, he has been making a slow heel turn but still acts like a babyface most of the time. Having Fandango take on someone who is in the midst of a heel turn makes a lot of sense.

With Rose having issues with his friend in the furry outfit, there is a very easy story to write here. Fandango fights Rose, The Bunny costs Rose the match, and Rose makes a full heel turn while Fandango gets to have a victory for his first match back in months.

Seeing as The Bunny hit on Natalya during Rose's match with Tyson Kidd, it also makes sense that he would hit on Rosa Mendes, who will be accompanying Fandango to the ring.

Rose will get distracted, and Fandango will take advantage and pick up the win. It's copy-and-paste writing, but it works well for everyone in the end.

Official Prediction: Fandango

Divas Elimination Match

2 of 6

Alicia Fox, Emma, Natalya and Naomi will be taking on Summer Rae, Layla, Paige and Cameron in an Elimination Match on Sunday.

Nobody in this match is being pushed hard at the moment, so anyone could win. Obviously, Paige is still considered a top Diva, but that doesn't guarantee victory.

Alicia Fox recently turned babyface and also became a cast member on Total Divas. If WWE wants to make the most of her situation, the smart move would be for her to be the last woman standing.

Having her face Paige at the very end of the match would give her an even bigger boost since they just had a falling out and Paige is considered one of the best in the division.

Fox is so much more talented than a lot of people give her credit for, and while she has been Divas champion before, having her be the one and only surviving member from her team would be a big accomplishment.

It's anybody's match to win at this point, but Foxy deserves to have a special moment after years of being kept in a minimal role.

Official Prediction: Alicia Fox is the sole survivor

AJ vs. Nikki Bella (Divas Title Match)

3 of 6

As of October 26 at Hell in a Cell, Brie Bella became Nikki's personal assistant/slave for exactly one month, which means her debt of servitude is almost over.

With Nikki getting her first title shot in quite some time this Sunday, it stands to reason that she would make Brie help her to win the title from the woman who has dominated the Divas division for a long time.

AJ is always the subject of rumors, whether it be about a possible departure, pregnancy or whatever else the mill churns out, but one thing we do know is that we are likely to see at least one title change hands on Sunday.

With the intercontinental and U.S. champions tied up in the main event and Brock Lesnar still sitting at home with his belt, that only leaves the tag team and Divas titles to be defended.

It's always possible that Nikki's plan could fail and AJ could retain, but at this point it seems a lot more probable that Nikki will walk out with the Divas Championship, which would pave the way for a Bella vs. Bella feud for the title once Brie is free from Nikki's hateful grasp.

Official Prediction: Nikki Bella

Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Championship Match

4 of 6

Gold and Stardust are defending their titles against Los Matadores, The Usos and the team of Damien Mizdow and The Miz.

One team we can probably eliminate from the equation is Los Matadores. They are slightly over, but they're not at the level of the other teams.

The Usos would be a good choice, but they held the titles for a long time before losing them to Gold and Stardust. It just doesn't seem like the right time for them to regain the belts.

Miz and Mizdow would make great champions because of the popularity of Mizdow with fans, but it's a lot more likely that the strangest brothers in WWE history will walk out with their championship reign intact.

The Rhodes brothers won the titles a little more than two months ago, and this will be their first real test after fending off The Usos a few times.

They need a big victory to solidify themselves as champions, which is why it makes the most sense for them to leave with the titles come Sunday.

Official Prediction: Gold and Stardust

Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt

5 of 6

WWE's two most unhinged personalities will collide this Sunday when Bray Wyatt takes on Dean Ambrose.

This is going to be one of the highlights of the night for sure. Both of these men are willing to take big risks, and we've already seen them have some good matches during the feud between The Shield and The Wyatt Family.

Ambrose is really over with the crowd, but this is Wyatt's return feud after a few months off. It's highly unlikely that he would take a loss in his first PPV match since returning.

This feud could go on for at least two or three months, so taking a loss won't hurt Ambrose right now, especially with how much crowd support he has at the moment.

Ambrose will put on a great show, but Wyatt will walk out with the win.

Official Prediction: Bray Wyatt

The Main Event

6 of 6

This is the match the entire PPV has been built around. If The Authority loses, they will be stripped of their power. If Team Cena loses, they get their walking papers.

This match will get three separate predictions. The first is that somebody will end up turning on their team. Odds are good that it'll be someone from Team Cena.

The Authority has put Dolph Ziggler through hell over the past few weeks, so he is a good candidate to turn on his partners just like Nikki Bella turned on Brie after being forced to have numerous handicap matches.

The other obvious choice is Erick Rowan. He turned babyface out of nowhere and joined Team Cena, but it could all be a trick that The Authority cooked up. Regardless of who it is, someone will stab their friends in the back.

The second prediction revolves around Rusev. He is still undefeated by way of pin and submission, so if he is going to be eliminated, it's going to happen because he will get disqualified. He will likely put someone in The Accolade and then refuse to break the hold.

The final prediction is for the outcome. Having everyone on Team Cena lose their jobs is simply out of the question, which is why Team Authority will end up losing their power on Sunday.

Official Prediction: Team Cena
