Luke Shaw Injury: Updates on Manchester United Star's Ankle and Return

Luke Shaw was on Louis van Gaal's long list of injury absentees following an ankle knock picked up in the recent win over Arsenal earlier this season, but he returned on Dec. 28.

Simon Jones of the Mail Online reports a potential three-week layoff for Shaw, whose injury is yet to be scanned due to swelling:

Shaw Withdrawn at Arsenal

The injury drama at Old Trafford is set to linger on after Luke Shaw was forced to withdraw early from Saturday's clash against Arsenal.

As ESPN FC and the official Arsenal Twitter account reported, Manchester United's left-back was replaced by Ashley Young just minutes into the fixture:

After the match, manager Louis van Gaal confirmed that it was an ankle injury according to Rob Harris of the Associated Press: 

Manager Louis van Gaal was pleased to have his defender fit after injury saw Shaw make a late start to his season, but it seems as though the bad luck in defence simply won't end for the Red Devils.
