When word got out that Favre had underwent surgery at the hands of Dr. James Andrews almost every football fan was convinced that Favre would be wearing a purple number 4 on his chest next season.
Well as always Brett did the exact opposite of what everyone was thinking and decided ultimately to remain retired. For whatever reason he came to the conclusion that despite the obvious want to play, the surgery he went under to return to the game he loves and captivating the national media, that he doesn't have enough left in the tank to go through what would have been an 18th season in the National Football League.
