Romario: Neymar Can Be Bigger Than Lionel Messi

Aged just 22, Neymar has already accomplished a great many things for Brazil. 

The Barcelona superstar is on a staggering goalscoring trajectory for his country, having scored 42 times for the Selecao. 

He's earned the praises of a certain Brazilian legend, Romario, and an extremely lofty comparison to his Barcelona team-mate and four-time Ballon d'Or winner, Lionel Messi. 

Romario thinks Neymar could surpass Messi in terms of stature. High praise, indeed. 

In an interview with Revista Trip (h/t Goal), the man who lifted the World Cup for Brazil in 1994 opened up about Neymar's great potential. He also conceded it's only a matter of time and goals before Neymar passes Romario's tally of 55 goals for Brazil.

He has everything to be bigger than Messi—Messi is already a part of history but Neymar can make an even bigger impact. 

Messi may not have another World Cup in which to compete and win, but Neymar has three or four more to contest. 

In relation to goals with the national team, he will go beyond me. But Romario is unsurpassable! He will only get more goals. 

He may reach 1,000 goals but nobody will ever be like Romario!
