Shaw Plays Through Hamstring Trouble
Luke Shaw has been named as a doubt for Manchester United's trip to face Arsenal on Saturday after it was revealed the left-back played through injury against Scotland.
Shaw started in England's 3-1 win over Gordon Strachan's men on Tuesday evening and felt a tweak in his hamstring at half-time. Massimo Marioni of Metro reports he played on anyway, while Shaw gives further details on the knock:
"I picked up a few knocks during the game and my left hamstring, which I hurt at the start of the season, I could feel a little bit. We had a discussion at half time over whether to bring me off then but it was a game I didn’t want to come off in so I played the extra 15 minutes and then Roy decided to sub me off. We will just have to see but I am hoping to be fit.
"
Shaw played through to the 66th minute before he was taken off for Kieran Gibbs, but he could now pay the price for not pushing for a substitution.
Ed Aarons of The Guardian quotes Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson saying that Shaw's groin is also a concern:
That kind of energy and determination to play is common among youngsters, but Louis van Gaal may not take kindly to the approach when one considers the already dire state of his back line.

Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo, both able to play at left-back, are currently among those injured, meaning Tyler Blackett could be forced to fill in on that side of defence once again at the Emirates Stadium.
United's manager may rightly be confused by Shaw's logic, however, considering the clash with Scotland was a friendly, while United are in need of every resource they can scrape together at the moment.
