After a debacle in Green Bay the Philadelphia Eagles return home, where they're 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 games as favorites. The 7-3 Eagles host the 2-8 Titans Sunday at the Linc.
Point spread: The Eagles opened as 10.5-point favorites; the total was 47.5 early in the week, according to sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark. (Line updates and matchup report)

Why the Titans can cover the spread
The Titans have lost four games in a row, but they've had some chances for better results. Monday night they led Pittsburgh 24-13 through three quarters, but allowed the Steelers to rally for two scores and a 27-24 victory. In Week 10 at Baltimore, Tennessee only trailed by a touchdown into the fourth, but came up short. And a month ago the Titans led at Washington 17-16 but lost on a field goal as time expired. Tennessee covered as a six-point dog against the Redskins, and as a seven-point dog against Pittsburgh, and could have covered as a 10-point dog against the Ravens.
Why the Eagles can cover the spread
The Eagles had won four of five games until running into a hot Packers team at Lambeau last week. Philly won't find any silver linings from that 53-20 loss; it's better just to move on. That's what they did when they won two in a row after losing at San Francisco back in September, and when they won two in a row after losing at Arizona last month.
Backup quarterback Mark Sanchez looked good in his first two games in place of the injured Nick Foles, throwing for 550 yards and four scores, against two interceptions, and little of what happened last week was his fault.
Smart Pick
Philly will be looking for redemption, after getting punked by the Packers, while the Titans are playing on the road on a short week. So the smart choice here is with the Eagles, minus the points.
Betting Trends
- Tennessee is 4-1 SU in its last five games when playing Philadelphia
- Philadelphia is 5-2 ATS in its last seven games
