Lance Armstrong Tries to Qualify for Beer Mile World Champs, Fails Miserably
November 18, 2014
Lance Armstrong took his fair share of performance-enhancing drugs to improve his athletic performance during his career, but alcohol was certainly not one of them!
The disgraced cyclist took on a new sporting challenge recently. He decided to try and qualify for the Flotrack Beer Mile World Championship, which is being held in his hometown of Austin, Texas, next month.
The Beer Mile involves competitors chugging a beer at the beginning of each quarter-mile lap. After necking one Budweiser, Armstrong was in trouble.
Just after opening his second beer, Armstrong quit the race, admitting that it was "not what I expected."
Armstrong won seven Tour de France titles but had all of them stripped away after he admitted taking PEDs.
He has also twice completed the New York City Marathon in under three hours.
