Atlanta Falcons star Robert Alford is recovering from a broken wrist suffered in Week 11 that has kept him out of action since. The team announced after Week 15 he will be placed on injured reserve after having surgery.

The Falcons announced Alford as inactive for their Week 15 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Alford previously missed the team's contests in Week 14, Week 13 and Week 12, as the team announced prior to those games.

Alford Diagnosed with Broken Wrist

The Atlanta Falcons have been torched by opposing passing games all season long. Things aren't about to get any easier for the league's 32nd-ranked pass defense, as cornerback Robert Alford has suffered a wrist injury.

Alford, 26, has played in 10 games this season, registering 31 tackles, three interceptions and 11 pass deflections. The second-year player has shown flashes this season and is a key member of a young secondary, pairing with fellow second-year corner Desmond Trufant.    

With Alford down, an already woeful secondary just got even worse.
