Pagano Updates Bradshaw's Status, Speaks on Replacements

Ahmad Bradshaw injured his ankle in the team's 42-20 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday night. There's no official word on how long Bradshaw will be out, but Mike Wells of ESPN and Steve Andress of Colts.com reported that Bradshaw received X-rays, and that he left Lucas Oil Stadium in a walking boot, respectively.
Bradshaw had been splitting carries with Richardson this season, but much of the load could fall on the third-year back out of Alabama now.
The Colts do have Daniel Herron on the roster, but he has had only 22 attempts this season, so Richardson seems more apt to shoulder the majority of the duties in the backfield. Thus far this season, Richardson hasn't been overly effective.
He had seven rushes for zero yards on Sunday night, and on the season he's averaging just 3.4 yards per carry with two touchdowns. Bradshaw added an element as a receiver to the mix as a fantasy asset. He has six receiving touchdowns already this season.
Richardson has shown some potential to be effective as a receiver. He had a 21-yard reception against New England, and has 22 catches for 203 yards receiving this season.
Fantasy owners should tentatively consider him if they don't have a more proven stud. However, because he was already getting more touches than every other Colts back, Bradshaw's injury probably won't lead to a statistical explosion for Richardson.
