Dwayne Allen Injury: Updates on Colts TE's Ankle and Return

Dwayne Allen is recovering from an ankle injury suffered during the Colts' Week 11 loss to the New England Patriots. He did not play in Weeks 12 or 13, but is active for Week 14.

Conflicting Reports on Early Diagnosis

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the early indication on Allen's diagnosis, which led to ESPN's Mike Wells speculating Allen will be out a few weeks. However, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported a conflicting diagnosis shortly after Schefter:

Coach Chuck Pagano provided an update on Allen after the Colts' loss via George Bremer of The Herald Bulletin:

The 24-year-old is in the midst of a career season, recording 26 receptions for 374 yards and seven touchdowns entering Week 11.

Allen's absence will hurt the Colts offense somewhat, but Coby Fleener has the skills to fill in as a strong option for Luck. Indy's passing attack shouldn't lose much steam with Allen sidelined.
