Josh McCown, Vincent Jackson, Mike Evans' Post-Week 11 Fantasy Reaction

Donald WoodNov 16, 2014

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have faced plenty of adversity in the first year under new head coach Lovie Smith, but the team’s offensive unit led by quarterback Josh McCown thrived Sunday against the Washington Redskins.

McCown was awarded the starting job after initially losing it when Mike Glennon was benched, and he made the most of his opportunity. With rookie wide receiver Mike Evans adapting to the NFL well and thriving under the offensive game plan of Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers offense looked impressive Sunday.

Evans has put together an amazing rookie season thus far, and according to Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune, he is reaching milestones that few other athletes ever have:

Following the game, Lovie Smith spoke about Evans' impact on the team, via Adam Schefter of ESPN:

While Evans has emerged as a must-start fantasy option in all leagues, veteran Vincent Jackson is struggling to hold on to his spot as a WR3. Jackson has been inconsistent this season with the team’s struggles at quarterback, and fantasy owners have been disappointed by his performance.

Fantasy owners should hold on to Jackson but only start him in favorable matchups as a WR3 or flex play. He is a feast-or-famine player. In the same vein, owners looking for a quarterback should try to find another option besides Josh McCown due to inconsistency. He's a back-end QB1 streamer when the matchup is good but otherwise just a QB2.
