Jeremy Hill's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 11

Timothy RappNov 16, 2014

For the Cincinnati Bengals, no Giovani Bernard is no problem when you have Jeremy Hill.

The rookie running back got another start in Hill's stead against the New Orleans Saints and didn't disappoint for fantasy owners, exceeding double-digit fantasy points and rushing for well over 100 yards. It was a welcome performance after he and the rest of the Bengals offense struggled so mightily last week against the Cleveland Browns.

It's also the second time in the past three weeks Hill has reached double-digit fantasy points for owners.

While Hill loses a great deal of his fantasy value when Bernard is healthy, it's also possible the Bengals will want to limit Bernard's touches a bit in order to keep him healthy. If that's the case, Hill could retain some fantasy value going forward and even be a flex consideration from week to week.

Until we know more about how the Bengals will handle the backfield when Bernard returns, consider Hill a handcuff with RB1 upside if Bernard can't play. But it's certainly possible that both players will have fantasy value in a tandem depending on how Cincy handles things going forward.
