Frank Gore, Carlos Hyde's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 11

Timothy RappNov 16, 2014

Coming into Week 11, the New York Giants were leaking fantasy points to opposing running backs each week. On Sunday, Frank Gore benefitted somewhat from New York's accommodating defense.

While Gore has been a bit streaky this season for fantasy owners, he's now strung together two solid fantasy performances in a row and appears to have clearly relegated Carlos Hyde to handcuff duty. Gore is no longer an RB1 consideration, no, but as a flex or low-end RB2 he still has value.

Despite Hyde's excellent effort on his touchdown in Week 10, he had just four touches in that game. It's also important to note that his nine fantasy points were the most he's tallied since he had seven fantasy points all the way back in Week 3.

The inconvenient truth for Hyde owners is that San Francisco's backfield is still all about Gore. That will probably change as soon as next season, but for now, Hyde remains only worthwhile as a handcuff.
