Denver Broncos vs. St. Louis Rams: Live St. Louis Score and Analysis

Steven GerwelNov 16, 2014

The St. Louis Rams (4-6) pulled off an unlikely 22-7 home victory over the juggernaut Denver Broncos (7-3) in quarterback Shaun Hill's first complete game of the season.

The Rams benched Austin Davis in favor of Hill after Davis' three-turnover meltdown at the end of last week's game in Arizona. Hill was less flashy but far more reliable, completing 68.9 percent of his passes with a touchdown and zero turnovers.

Denver entered the game with the No. 1-ranked run defense, allowing just 67 yards per game on average. The Rams dominated the Denver front eight and nearly doubled that average with 131 rushing yards, including a 113-yard performance by rookie back Tre Mason.

This game, however, was all about the St. Louis defense.

The Rams held the Broncos to a season-low seven points, and the Denver run game was held to a humiliating 28 yards on the ground.

Manning completed over 62 percent of his passes, but the Rams picked him off twice and recorded two sacks. The constant pressure made it difficult for Manning to do much of anything.

The Rams secured solid wins over Seattle and San Francisco earlier in the season, and this astonishing win over Denver further proves that the Rams are a talented football and capable of playing with the best, even if their record is undesirable.

Next week, the Rams will hit the road to take on the San Diego Chargers, and Denver will host the Miami Dolphins
