Sean SwabyNov 15, 2014
England captain Wayne Rooney reached a huge milestone on Saturday, earning his 100th cap for England at Wembley as the Three Lions faced Slovenia in a European qualifier.
The 29-year-old became the ninth English player to reach the milestone and the first to do so under the age of 30.
He was presented with a commemorative gold cap from Sir Bobby Charlton before the match to mark the momentous occasion for the Manchester United man.

His son, Kai Rooney, wore a special shirt for the night.

The occasion wasn't all celebratory, as some fans couldn't resist but have a subtle dig at team-mate Raheem Sterling in the process.
In the aftermath, Rooney thanked fans with a celebratory picture with his family on Instagram.
