The NFL on ESPN reported the news:
Doga released a statement via ESPN's Adam Schefter:
NFL.com's Michael Silver weighed in on Dogra's departure from CAA:
ESPN's Darren Rovell put into context just how much clout Dogra held in professional football, with a number of his clients having secured big deals in recent years:
NFL Network's Albert Breer offered his take:
Dogra has helped secure lucrative contracts for the likes of Buffalo Bills star Mario Williams, Houston Texans franchise cornerstone J.J. Watt and outspoken Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.
Most recently, Dogra finalized a seven-year, $98 million deal for Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, making him the highest-paid player at the position.
The circumstances surrounding Dogra's firing haven't been specified at this time, but it will impact at least one notable client of his. Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin was represented by Dogra and is having a career season amid a contract year.
It is unclear how CAA will work to replace Dogra and the massive influence he had in the NFL, but his dismissal is certainly quite a loss for the agency and a number of high-profile athletes.
