Verratti Ruled Out of Italy Squad

Marco Verratti has pulled out of Italy's squad to face Croatia and Albania after succumbing to a niggling problem with his left adductor.ย

Verratti recently missed Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League tie with APOEL, but he can now rest in preparation for the French side's Ligue 1 clash with Metz on Nov. 21.

The 22-year-old has been an ever present in Laurent Blanc's team this seasonโ€”racking up 15 appearances across the domestic division and Champions League alreadyโ€”scoring one and assisting four in the process, per WhoScored.com.

Naturally combative and excellent at controlling possession, Verratti is certainly a major loss for an Italian side who are looking to topple Croatia at the top of their Euro 2016 group, before the friendly with Albania.
