Dani Alves and Pedro to Arsenal
1 of 2
As of right now, the future is a mystery for Barcelona players Dani Alves and Pedro. Both could be in the midst of their last season with the Catalan club, but there is no real way of knowing what is going to happen next.
According to a recent report from The Guardian, Alves and Pedro are on Arsenal’s radar and could receive a bid for their services in the near future.
Alves, who is in the last year of his contract, will likely be leaving the club at the end of the season, so waiting to sign the defender for free would be the best decision for clubs looking for his signature. However, Pedro will not leave for free, so it will be up to vying clubs to make Barcelona an offer.
While Arsenal seem to value the Barcelona duo very highly, plenty of other suitors are expected to show up soon. As the clubs start to line up, it is becoming glaringly obvious that their futures rest outside of the Camp Nou.
Gerard Pique to Rendezvous with Pep Guardiola in Germany?
2 of 2
Pep Guardiola’s time at Barcelona is over; that much is clear. But his time with Barcelona players is a completely different story.
According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo (h/t Inside Spanish Football), Pep Guardiola met up with Barcelona’s Gerard Pique recently in a location near the home of Thiago Alcantara. Based on their relationship, it may not seem that odd, but there could be more going on based on the timing of the meeting.
With Pique fighting for his place at Barcelona and having been dropped often by manager Luis Enrique, he may be looking for a way out of Barcelona. Meeting back up with Guardiola at Bayern Munich could be a real possibility, as was the case with Thiago Alcantara.
With Javi Martinez and Holger Badstuber currently injured for Bayern Munich, along with others, bringing in a new centre-back would make a lot of sense.
Does this transfer rumour hold any water? It is far too early to tell at this point, but what a story it would be.
