Barcelona Transfer News: Major Stars Tipped for Camp Nou Exit
Barcelona could be plunged into further transitional problems with the news that a number of stars could be on their way from the Camp Nou—led by Spain World Cup winner, Gerard Pique.
The centre-back's relationship with new Barca coach Luis Enrique appears to be slowly disintegrating, fuelling talk that Pique could be on his way back to English football.
Jack De Menezes of The Independent says the relationship between manager and player has hit an all-time low after the team's 2-1 win against Almeria. The journalist explains that Enrique asked Pique to warm up, despite having no further substitutions to make in the match, having used his maximum amount.
Here is a short video of the incident as it occurred:
Enrique seems to have been making a point to his defender in a very public way, leading to questions of his own leadership and direction of his playing staff.
Football writer Sergi Dominguez also highlighted the Barca coach's use of Pique and hinted toward the connotations his absence might suggest:
Peter McVitie of Goal.com also quoted words spoken by Pique at a recent training session to another of Barca's star names who seems surplus to Enrique's requirements—Dani Alves.
McVitie says the two were caught on video by Welabo, with Pique saying to the Brazilian full-back:
"Dani, you have many enemies here. You're becoming like me."
The journalist then cites Mundo Deportivo, who say that Pique told his club he was only speaking in jest to his team-mate, explaining himself once it became apparent the video had gone viral on social media.

Pique has been hugely successful with the Catalan club since he rejoined the team from Manchester United, playing 274 games, winning four La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues, per De Menezes.
But his departure now seems inevitable with the player and coach's recent words and actions.
A third hugely successful player to join Pique and Alves out of the Camp Nou is Pedro, who is a target for Premier League teams.
The Metro recently reported that Liverpool would beat Arsenal in the race for the player's signature, with Barcelona looking for a £25 million transfer fee for the talented attacker.
The 27-year-old is also out of favour with Enrique, and it seems his days in Spain are numbered.
Barcelona are in full-blown transition at present, and it seems Enrique is determined to lay the foundations of a brand-new squad.
The arrival of Luis Suarez has allowed the coach to put a new angle on the shape of the team, which raises more questions than answers.
But it seems that three of Barca's most successful entities are no longer wanted and the new coach will have to live or die by his dramatic decisions. Pique and Pedro still have much to offer, at the right football club, and Alves can still do a very useful job on the front foot.
Pique has been a leader at Barcelona for many years, and he has helped new managers after the exit of Pep Guardiola. But his personal performances have slipped, and it is clear Enrique sees the player as a problem in the grand scheme of rebuilding.
Only time will tell if Pique's exit is negatively felt by Barca, but it seems like he has already been consigned to history after recent events.
