Sami Khedira Staying Put?

1 of 4

Friday, November 14

Sami Khedira has dealt Arsenal a transfer blow by suggesting he may wish to remain with Real Madrid beyond the January transfer window. Speaking to German publication Kicker, Khedira said (h/t Simon Jones of the Daily Mail):

"

Right now, I cannot see any reason why I would leave the club this winter. Real Madrid is a great club to be at. This club has a place in my heart and there is absolutely no reason for me to say that I want to or have to leave.

I get the feeling I am still wanted (by coach Carlo Ancelotti).

"

If Khedira intends to keep his word, Arsenal will have to find someone else to strengthen their midfield.

Thursday, October 13

According to Alex Harris of the Daily Star, Arsenal have opened talks to sign Roma striker Mattia Destro.

Although Destro is undoubtedly a clinical finisher of some quality, it's difficult to place too much stock in this story. With the summer signing of Danny Welbeck, Arsenal are hardly short of strikers.

A new rumour suggests that Arsenal may have a chance of landing centre-back Mats Hummels.

Izzy Horsefield of The Express suggests that "sources in Germany" indicate Hummels would be interested in a move to Arsenal.

With Borussia Dortmund struggling in the lower reaches of the Bundesliga, it's possible that Hummels could see this as an appropriate time to move on. Should he decide to leave, Arsenal must be at the front of the queue.

Arsenal Turn to Beckham?

4 of 4

Monday, November 10

Arsenal have reportedly beaten Manchester United and Chelsea to their first signing since the summer.

It's a big name, too.

It's Beckham—not David, but teenage son Brooklyn.

According to Vaishali Bhardwaj of the Metro, the 15-year-old has been handed a deal until the end of the season.

If he has his father's genes, he could certainly help the Gunners improve their woeful set-piece delivery!
