Laporta is said to have enquired about Ronaldo's buy-out clause, but Mendes quickly put the matter to bed by saying that a move for the Portuguese international would be all but impossible.

Miguel Angel Lara of Marca reports that Marco Reus is one of Real Madrid's primary transfer targets. They have been tracking the Borussia Dortmund player for three years and are convinced he would be an excellent fit for the club.

Lara provides the following information from Madrid's scouting reports as evidence of the esteem in which they hold the 25-year-old.

"

Reus scored highly and left no doubts that the German is good enough to play at Real Madrid. "His leadership and skill are impressive"; "He can play in any attacking position"; "He has an amazing shot and eye for goal"; and "He's ready to take the step up to a big club" are just some of the conclusions drawn in the 'Reus report'.

"

Reus' Dortmund contract expires in 2016 and Lara writes that Madrid may make a move for him next summer. He shares an agent with current Madrid player Toni Kroos and the club will hope to use their strong, pre-existing relationship with the agent to their advantage in negotiating a deal.

Jose Felix Diaz of Marca reports that Real Madrid are very interested in 15-year-old Norwegian sensation Martin Odegaard.

Diaz writes that Madrid have been keeping track of the young midfielder for some time and now intend to lodge a bid for the Stromsgodset player following his visit to the club's training facilities last week. Odegaard has a number of major European clubs vying for his signature but is said to have enjoyed his time in Madrid.

If he does elect to join Los Merengues, he would initially turn out for Real Madrid Castilla. A promotion to the first team would follow in due course.

Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia has revealed that he was close to agreeing a move to Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

"I could have joined Real Madrid in August but the closure of the transfer window was so close that the deal just didn’t materialise," he explained at a press conference ahead of Argentina's friendly against Croatia on Wednesday night, as per Football Italia.

"At the moment I feel very happy at Lazio but I want to continue to grow and in the future I hope I can have another chance like that."

The Argentina international was previously linked to Madrid back in 2012, as per the Daily Mail. However, as on this occasion, the link was propagated by the player himself.
