Mark Henry: An Old Dog Learning Some New Tricks
Hello, everyone. As always I would like to thank you for spending a little time with me today.
I was sitting around the house bored and unable to sleep so here I am in front of the computer. I would like to talk about someone who doesn’t garner much attention from the wrestling world.
He is a former Olympian and winner of multiple world strongest man competitions. In case the little light bulb hasn’t gone of in your head yet, the man I am referring to is none other than Mark Henry.

Henry is a veteran grappler who has been with the company now for 13 years. Now besides that fact that I feel old saying that, I must say his career for the most part has been a big disappointment.
If anyone wonders why I say that, it is because when he was brought into the then-WWF, there was a lot of hype and promise for this guy at first. Well by now it is safe to say it didn’t pan out his way.
Henry has spent a good portion of his career in mid-card limbo. I also have to be honest with you after he fathered Mae Young’s hand; I lost what little hope I had for him.
I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the big buy. After being tagged with bad story lines and countless jobbing over the years, I really thought he was done for.
That is until recently. It would seem now that Henry has found a new lease on life. His time in ECW has been nothing short of a miracle. He has gone from lowly mid-carder all the way up to a “Dare I say" almost top-carder.
I can honestly say that I have never seen Mark Henry so popular right now. He has the fans behind him and it seems like he is finally getting a decent push. Since his return to Raw, he is undefeated and was almost in a title match.
Maybe I am being a little delusional in my thinking, but I don’t even think it is that far fetched that he will wrestle for the heavyweight belt. He has never gotten the respect he deserved with this company up until now.
I hope they at least give him at least one run with the title. It is that least Vince can do after all the years of crap he has had to suffer. He has done everything that this company has asked and has never complained.
It is only fair that he gets at least one really bright moment to shine before he hangs up his boots. I just really hope that he is given that opportunity. I wouldn’t count on it though, knowing Vince.
Then again, you just never know what that crazy old chairman will pull out of his hat. I wouldn’t put it past him either way. I mean if they can put the heavyweight title on hardy. Why can’t they throw poor old Mark Henry a bone?
Instead of getting my hopes up though, I will instead just sit back and enjoy the ride. It may be a long one ride; it may also be a very short one. At least it is a fun ride, so enjoy it while it lasts.
Well that is it for me tonight. I think I will go back to bed and try to catch some ZZZ's.
As always, have a blessed and safe day, my friends.
