Portland Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum suffered a knee injury late in the fourth quarter against the Denver Nuggets Sunday night.
The team's Twitter feed diagnosed the injury as a knee contusion:
Batum went up for a rebound and came down in obvious pain before being helped back to the locker room. It's difficult to tell exactly what happened, but judging by the diagnosis, he may have banged knees with Robin Lopez.
Here's a look at the play:
The Blazers' do-everything Frenchman is off to a slow start scoring the ball, but he has been rebounding (8.3 per 36 minutes) and assisting (6.1 per 36) at rates that would serve as career highs, per Basketball-Reference.
Fortunately, this injury doesn't sound serious, as the "questionable" tag for Tuesday night would suggest.
If Batum is forced to miss any time, Dorell Wright will likely see an uptick in minutes while C.J. McCollum, Will Barton and Thomas Robinson could also help fill the void off the bench.
