Who's Next????? Fedor???

The Truth TurcottJul 28, 2009

Who would have believed that after just 5 MMA fights in to his short career that Brock Lesnar would be the undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the world. That's right folks I said it; "The Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World." And why not? Did anyone honestly believe that Frank Mir would survive long enough to tire Brock out and get a sub-mission again?

Frankly I was surprised that Mir caught him the first time. Anyone who thought Brock was just a big joke must have gotten a rude awakening when he destroyed Heath Herring in his second U.F.C. bout. "Can you see me now?" he asked the crowd. I guess the answer must have been no as many avid mma fans believed Brock was on his way to getting his butt spanked at the hands of "The Natural" Randy Couture when he returned to the U.F.C. to defend his title as the "true" U.F.C. Heavyweight Champion. Many believed Randy was going to send the big boy home licking his wounds and hopefully re-thinking his career goals, but too many fans astonishment he stopped "The Natural" and had his hand raised and a belt strapped around his waist.

Then the Fedor rumblings began, in fact immediately after his victory over Randy Couture the big question was, "Can Brock beat Fedor?" With the majority of fans and experts, Couture himself doubting the big man would stand a chance with the #1 world ranked heavyweight. But why? It's not like Brock Lesnar hasn't fought any worthy opponents in fact if you ask me he may very well of fought some of the best the sport has to offer. Can anyone deny Heath Herrings skills and resume? He was tough in Pride and has been a contender in the U.F.C. Randy Couture certainly cannot be considered a slouch although not at the peak or prime of his career when he fought Brock. Can you say "U.F.C. 100."  I think Frank Mir's face and lack of defence is proof enough that Brock Lesnar is the real deal, the question is "who's next?"

I can only hope as many of you out there are hoping that the answer is: Fedor. Apparently rumour has it the "Super-Russian" may be close to signing a deal with the U.F.C. and on Friday we'll get a press conference of sorts reporting possibly the biggest event in MMA history Brock Lesnar versus Fedor Emelianenko for the "Undisputed" U.F.C. Heavyweight Champion of the world. Unlike many of you, I'm just wondering after Brock dismantles Fedor, "Who's Next?"
