Andre Schurrle Being Used as Bait for Chelsea to Win Marco Reus Race
1 of 2
Marco Reus has long been one of the hottest properties in European football, with his future at Borussia Dortmund being called into question.
Now Chelsea are being linked with a move for the talented German, using his compatriot Andre Schurrle as bait to sign him in January.
The Express' David Wright reports that Jose Mourinho is eager to get any deal done in the new year, an approach that stands to reason as Reus is believed to have a clause in his contract allowing him to leave Dortmund for as little as £20 million in the summer.
Should that happen, he will have the pick of most clubs across Europe and as a result, his wages will become a major bargaining tool.
Meanwhile, Schurrle hasn't been getting much action at Chelsea this term, so he may well be eager to move back to his homeland to increase his playing time.
Chelsea and Liverpool Go Head-to-Head for Doumbia
2 of 2
They clashed this weekend at Anfield and now Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly going head-to-head in the race to sign CSKA Moscow striker Seydou Doumbia.
That's according to The Sunday People (h/t Vaishali Bhardwaj at Metro) who are reporting Doumbia could be the subject of a bid of £15 million from Brendan Rodgers' Reds.
The Ivorian striker is a hot property right now after his two goals against Manchester City saw CSKA seal a shock 2-1 in the Champions League last week.
According to the Daily Star, Doumbia came close to joining Chelsea last summer and Stamford Bridge is his preferred destination should a move happen.
