Williams To Miss Multiple Weeks
Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reported on Ian Williams' timeline for a return to the 49ers following his injury on Sunday:
"Nose tackle Ian Williams, who sustained a fracture in his left lower leg on Sunday, will not require surgery and is expected to be out “a few weeks,” a source told CSNBayArea.com.
It is not known if the 49ers will ultimately decide to place Williams on injured reserve or keep him on the 53-man roster in hopes he can make a contribution later in the season.

San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Ian Williams suffered a "slight fracture" to his lower leg in Sunday's 27-24 overtime victory over the New Orleans Saints, coach Jim Harbaugh said after the game:
Williams, 25, went down in the second quarter on a six-yard pass from Drew Brees to Brandin Cooks. He was carted to the locker room, where he underwent an X-ray that revealed the fracture. He did not return for the second half.
A former undrafted free agent in 2011, Williams' career has been mired by injuries. He appeared in only five NFL games before the 2014 season, thanks in large part to finding himself constantly on the injured list. This season was the first he'd stayed relatively healthy. Williams appeared in San Francisco's first nine games, recording 22 tackles and one sack.
Quinton Dial will take over at nose tackle for the time being.
