Lewis Speaks On His Status for Week 11

Guerry Smith of The Advocate talked to Keenan Lewis about his injured knee and status going forward:

"

A day after sustaining a left knee injury against San Francisco, Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis vowed he would play next Sunday against Cincinnati.

'I’ll be ready,' he said. 'I’m just getting ready for the Bengals.'

Walking gingerly when he entered the locker room, Lewis stopped for an eight-minute interview. Although he refused to divulge whether he had gotten an MRI or was about to get one, he added if he thought the injury were serious he would not have returned to the game.

New Orleans Saints star cornerback Keenan Lewis exited Sunday's Week 10 game against the San Francisco 49ers with a quadriceps injury.

The Saints originally ruled Lewis out for the remainder of the game:

Lewis, however, eventually returned to the contest, via the Saints:

Following the game, he talked about his return to the game and how he was feeling after via Ramon Antonio Vargas of The Advocate:

Sean Payton also spoke about Lewis following the team's defeat at the hands of the 49ers, via Vargas:

An Instagram photo of Lewis' knee was uploaded, and it is rather gruesome, via Bobby Boucher:

Lewis has been a tremendous cover cornerback in New Orleans since arriving in 2013, aiding the team's effort to shore up on defense.

The Saints are playing the first of a three-game homestand Sunday, so at least the home crowd will be on their side for the foreseeable future if Lewis needs to miss games to recover.
