Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany picked up a calf injury that will force him to miss the club's Premier League clash with Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
The club confirmed the absence:
Mark Ogden of the Daily Telegraph noted the ailment isn't believed to be a major issue:
Kompany played all 90 minutes in City's Champions League loss to CSKA Moscow on Wednesday. Luckily, it doesn't sound like something that will sideline him for an extended period. That would have obviously been a significant setback for the club's back line.
The 28-year-old veteran did miss serious time with a calf injury a few seasons ago, so City are likely just being cautious at this stage of the campaign. An update should be provided in the days ahead.
