Fantasy Football Week 10 Rankings: Latest Position-by-Position Rundown

Mike ChiariNov 8, 2014

With another large slate of byes limiting fantasy options in Week 10, owners will have to get creative and perhaps even a little lucky to enjoy success.

Some of the top fantasy studs across multiple positions won't be available this week, which inevitably launches several mid-range options into must-start territory. It also places a great deal of emphasis on owners' bench players as well as the waiver wire.

The Week 10 fantasy landscape isn't completely barren, though, and there are still big scores to be had. Here is a full listing of fantasy rankings for every position along with a closer look at some of the most desirable options.

There was some concern regarding Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers' health after seemingly tweaking his hamstring in Week 8. Luckily for the Pack and Rodgers' fantasy owners, though, the elite signal-caller's bye week came at an opportune time.

It appears as though all systems are go for Rodgers in Week 10 based on his comments courtesy of the Packers' official Twitter account:

Rodgers also happens to have an ideal matchup on tap against the struggling Chicago Bears. He had his best game of the season in Chicago back in Week 4 when he threw for over 300 yards and four touchdowns.

Chicago has allowed 17 passing touchdowns this season, and it will have a difficult time containing wide receivers Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. Everything is lining up for Rodgers to have a huge showing, and there is no reason to believe he won't.

Sunday's clash between the Packers and Bears has all the makings of a shootout. If that ends up being the case, then Chicago's main beneficiary is likely to be do-everything running back Matt Forte.

The versatile veteran is enjoying a fantasy season for the ages, especially in point-per-reception formats. He has at least five catches in each game this year, which is good for 58 on the season. According to NFL.com's Chris Wesseling, that puts him on a historic pace:

Forte is running the ball well, too, and he has six total touchdowns to his credit. His best rushing performance came in Week 4 against the Packers when he put up 122 yards on the ground as well as an additional 49 yards through the air.

Because of his excellence in the passing game, Forte's fantasy floor is higher than any other running back on a weekly basis. With Green Bay's run defense ranking last in the NFL, that floor will be even higher than usual in Week 10.

The 2014 campaign has been a rough one for Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson thus far. Since a Week 1 outburst that saw him go for 164 yards and two touchdowns, Megatron has essentially been a fantasy non-factor. That is mostly due to the fact that an ankle injury severely limited him in two games and kept him out for three others.

Johnson is finally back and ready to play after Detroit's bye week, and he will look to make up for lost time. In fact, Megatron's time off might prove to be a good thing for him down the stretch, per Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com:

Although the Miami Dolphins allow only 201 passing yards per game, Johnson is still a top-flight option in Week 10. Quarterback Matthew Stafford has missed him, and he will undoubtedly do everything in his power to get Megatron the ball early and often.

Matchups don't usually mean anything to Johnson since he is the type of player who can thrive in double and even triple coverage. With Johnson seemingly close to 100 percent, he will attack Miami's secondary with a vengeance.

There are a lot of mouths to feed in the Denver Broncos offense, which is why guys like tight end Julius Thomas can't dominate on a weekly basis. Even though his usage has been somewhat inconsistent, though, he remains one of the top tight ends in fantasy football.

Thomas has 10 touchdowns already, which is the driving force behind his value. Unfortunately, his high in terms of receiving yardage over the past three contests is just 33 yards. That is something quarterback Peyton Manning wants to change, according to the Broncos' official Twitter account:

The Oakland Raiders surrender a quarterback rating of 101.3 to opposing signal-callers and have just eight sacks on the season. That means Manning should have all day to pick the secondary apart, and Thomas will have plenty of time to get open in mismatch situations.

Wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders have done the bulk of the damage in recent weeks, but don't be surprised if the big, athletic tight end is Manning's weapon of choice in Week 10.
