India vs. Sri Lanka, 2nd ODI, 2014: Highlights, Scorecard, Report
India made light work of Sri Lanka to win the second one-day international of their five-match series in Ahmedabad, running out victors with six wickets to spare.
Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first, but they were behind the game from the moment Kusal Perera was dismissed in the first over.
A fighting innings from Angelo Mathews, who accelerated to 92 not out from 101 balls, propped the visitors' score up to 274-8 from their 50 overs.
"Ambati Rayudu (29 years) 4th oldest to register a maiden ODI 100 for India after Gavaskar (38y), M Amarnath (37) & Robin Singh (33) #IndvSL

An Ambati Rayudu century—his first at ODI level—made sure that the chase was a simple one, and it gave the hosts a 2-0 lead in the series.

Sri Lanka's innings simply lacked momentum. They built slowly on a pitch which was expected to produce plenty of runs.
Tillakaratne Dilshan compiled a breezy 35 from 30 balls, but Kumar Sangakkara, having painstakingly built an innings of 61, fell just at the moment he needed to kick on.
With Mahela Jayawardene dismissed cheaply, and Ashan Priyanjan run out after a moment of madness, Sri Lanka were left tottering at 179-6 after 36 overs.
Mathews, who has been in exceptional form this year, managed to put something together in partnership with Dhammika Prasad.

Their 54 runs in the final 6.4 overs gave them a total which gave them something to bowl at.

However, India's batting machine was undeterred.
While Ajinkya Rahane did not get started, falling for eight, Shikhar Dhawan rode his luck after appearing to edge behind.
With the umpire missing the deflection, Dhawan kicked on with 79, while Rayudu played an accomplished innings around him.
After a steady start through the first 20 overs, they began to assume total control, with the required run rate posing no threat.
Leg-break bowler Seekkuge Prasanna prised out Dhawan as he tried the slog sweep, but it only brought out Virat Kohli, who crunched maximums with impunity as he racked up a 44-ball 49.
Again, though, there was no respite—Suresh Raina sweeping in and scoring freely against Suraj Randiv.
The star of the show was Rayudu, whose century came in 101 balls.
With India dominating both games so completely, it's hard to see where and how Sri Lanka can turn things around.
