Valanciunas Returns to the Lineup
The Raptors reported Valanciunas is back:
Valanciunas Suffers Hand Injury
The Raptors' official media relations Twitter account reported the news regarding Valanciunas' hand injury:
Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe noted how Valanciunas' absence impacts Toronto's frontcourt:
As mentioned in the first tweet, the deactivation of Valanciunas also results in the promotion of 2014 first-round draft pick Bruno Caboclo, who was famously declared by ESPN analyst Fran Fraschilla to be "two years away from being two years away."
Now the 19-year-old Brazilian will at least have a shot to contribute. However, it doesn't appear that Valanciunas' hand contusion will keep him out for too long of a time, so it's doubtful Caboclo will be able to establish himself in the Raptors' rotation.
It would be tough to do so as is, since Toronto is off to an encouraging 3-1 start to follow last season's surprise run to the playoffs.
