Mike Florio Predictably Stokes the Mike Vick-to-Washington Flames
Everyone who regularly reads this space knows that I harbor zero good will towards Daniel Snyder’s ownership of the Washington football franchise. But occasionally, I aspire for objectivity. And this is one instance where Snyder can count on my defense of his incorrigible record of ownership and management.
Just because a team has a habit of overspending on every big-name free agent, doesn’t mean that there is a probability of signing this summer’s highest profile free agent, Mike Vick. But everybody knows that pageviews and controversy are the order of the day when you put Vick’s name in a blog post title with that of the Washington football team, so take it away, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"Bottom line? The Redskins signed Albert Haynesworth, who is hardly a choir boy. If they can justify giving him $41 million guaranteed, they can easily justify giving Vick a one-year deal.
To be clear, we’re not reporting that the Redskins will sign Vick. But we’ve heard enough from a couple of trusted sources to believe that something could indeed happen.
And if it happens, it’ll be happening fairly soon.
"
So let’s figure out the formula for the obvious, shall we? Vick is reinstated, and has very little time to be signed, given a playbook, and integrated with a team. Snyder always seeks out big-name free agents. Mike Vick and Washington is just to delicious to ignore.
It would work, except that you could replace Washington with New England, New York, Oakland or Dallas, and have the same thing be true.
To be completely fair, Florio knows that Washington football fans are stupid enough to hit up his site with vile commentary opposing the move, or glowing reviews of how Snyder should make it happen. And he knows that us DMV bloggers are smart enough to use his propaganda to boost our own hits. In the web world, it works every which way you look. He gets hits, we get hits, Washington fans blow off a little steam.
But in the real world, it’s an unfair shot in the dark. Even at a team the specializes in blind shot firing.
