Internet Rejoices as Cristiano Ronaldo Meets His Match in the Form of Kolo Toure

Before Tuesday night's game against Liverpool, Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo had scored in 12 successive games. 

However, Ronaldo did not previously come up against Kolo Toure, the cult hero who made a surprise start for the Reds at the Bernabeu for the Champions League clash.

Real went on to win the match 1-0 thanks to a Karim Benzema goal, but Toure still went on to produce a man-of-the-match performance in a losing effort.

The Internet was suitably impressed, with a series of hilarious tweets and memes celebrating the Ivorian's performance quickly posted:
