The Minnesota Wild updated Zach Parise's status after suffering an injury on Tuesday night:
Original Text
A 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Pittsburgh Penguins Tuesday turned from bad to worse for the Minnesota Wild as Zach Parise suffered an upper-body injury.
The team's official Twitter feed confirmed the news:
Parise logged just under 13 minutes of time on the ice against the Pens, and according to the Pioneer Press' Chad Graff, he didn't return to the bench after the second intermission.
Although the severity of the injury is unknown at this point, Parise's importance to the team makes this something to keep a close eye on. The veteran has tallied 10 points (four goals, six assists) through 11 games with a plus/minus of plus-six.
Not only is he Minnesota's leading scorer, but with Matt Cooke also sidelined with an injury, there is a concern about depth.
The Wild are back in action Thursday at Ottawa, so Wednesday's update will be important in determining his status.
