Terrelle Pryor Rumors: Latest Buzz and Speculation on Eagles, Redskins and More

Adam WellsNov 4, 2014

Free-agent quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who was released by the Seattle Seahawks in August, appears to have caught the eye of two NFC East teams.

According to a post on Pryor's Facebook page, the former Ohio State quarterback has been contacted by the Philadelphia Eagles and will have a visit with them before a trip to the nation's capital for a visit with Washington.

"Philly called today," Pryor wrote. "Going to visit philly and then Washington Redskins Tomorrow! Let's get it."

Pryor also posted a message of excitement about having another shot to play in the NFL on Twitter after receiving the calls:

It's no surprise the Eagles are in search of another quarterback. Nick Foles is lost for six-to-eight weeks after suffering a broken collarbone against Houston, per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer:

However, according to Tim McManus of 97.5 The Fanatic, the Eagles don't currently have anything scheduled with Pryor:

Washington's interest doesn't make as much sense on the surface. The team already has three healthy quarterbacks on the roster. Unless Pryor would come in on the practice squad or he moves to another position, there's no spot to put him currently.

Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said during training camp, via Marc Sessler of NFL.com, that he was impressed with Pryor's grasp of the offense:

"

He's working really, really hard to get it. There are a lot of good things that are happening out here. Sometimes just being able to spit the play out in the huddle can be a challenge and that hasn't been a problem for him. He's been able to rip right through it. He's picking up the offense really well.

"

An inconsistent preseason led to Pryor's release. He's been waiting for the phone to ring for the first nine weeks of the season, but there were some moments in his time as a starter with Oakland in 2013 that suggested he could be a solid backup to have.

Even though Pryor hasn't caught on yet, he's a good enough athlete and still young enough at 25 to warrant another shot. It's all about finding the right opening for him to take.
