Aston Villa, like many Premier League clubs, run a goal of the month competition, but they had a little problem come the end of October.

They hadn't scored any goals.

Yes, Villa went on a goalless run from September 13 to November 2, with Andreas Weimann finally ending the unwanted record last Sunday, albeit in a losing effort, as he scored against Tottenham.

That meant that Villa's official website had no option but to cancel October's goal competition, per The Mirror

People certainly took great delight in comparing Villa's goalscoring record to other things during the run, not least Cristiano Ronaldo.

Let's hope for the sake of everybody that holds Aston Villa dear to their hearts that Weimann has some competition come the end of November.
