Randy Orton Injury: Updates on WWE Star's Status and Return
Randy Orton has been generating a ton of momentum as of late, but The Viper may not be seen on WWE programming for the immediate future.
Following a loss to Seth Rollins in the main event of Raw on Monday, WWE's Apex Predator flipped his lid and proceeded to attack his Authority brethren. That resulted in Mr. Money in the Bank Curb Stomping Orton's head on the steel steps.

In the wake of that incident, WWE.com is reporting that Orton's status is unknown, although it is believed that he suffered a concussion.
Realistically, all signs point toward this being a ploy to write The Viper off television for the time being. According to WrestlingInc.com (h/t F4WOnline), Orton is set to star in the movie The Condemned 2, which begins filming on Nov. 11. Because of that, an injury angle needed to be run in order to explain his absence.
This isn't unlike the situation that occurred with Dean Ambrose a month prior to Night of Champions as he was written off after taking a Curb Stomp atop cinder blocks so that he could partake in a movie as well.
It remains to be seen how long Orton will be out of action, but Survivor Series will take place on Nov. 23, and one can only assume that he will factor in to some degree.
Triple H previously had him penciled in for Team Authority against Team Cena, although Orton made a comment on Raw that suggested he might be willing to jump ship, per WWE Universe:
On the heels of The Authority taking out Orton, it seems as though his face turn is complete, which means The Viper will almost certainly join forces with John Cena if he returns in time for Survivor Series.
Orton's unpredictable character has helped him get back in the good graces of WWE fans lately, and it will be interesting to see what type of reaction he receives when he ultimately returns.
