Chiefs' Dwayne Bowe Records 500th Career Reception
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe recorded his 500th career reception during Sunday's 24-10 win over the New York Jets, joining Tony Gonzalez as the only players to catch 500 or more passes in a Chiefs uniform, per ESPN Stats & Info.
Bowe, who has played for the Chiefs since they selected him out of LSU in the first round of the 2007 draft, finished Sunday's game with six receptions for 55 yards, the kind of modest receiving line that has become his new norm.
A 1,000-yard receiver in 2008, 2010 and 2011, Bowe has become more of a complementary piece in recent years, with the offense largely running through superstar running back Jamaal Charles.

While no longer one of the NFL's more prolific wide receivers, Bowe has etched a place in team history during his eight years in Kansas City, even if his tenure has seemingly had as many downs as ups.
Bowe's 503 receptions rank a distant second in franchise history to Gonzalez's 916, sitting 87 ahead of third-place Henry Marshall's 416.
More of a possession receiver the last few seasons, Bowe ranks third on the franchise list for receiving yards, with his 6,799 trailing both Gonzalez's 10,940 and Otis Taylor's 7,306.
Bowe finds himself fifth in the franchise annals with 44 receiving touchdowns, behind Gonzalez (76), Taylor (57), Chris Burford (55) and Stephone Paige (49).
Not separating by team, there have been 123 players to reach 500 career receptions, including 16 who are currently on an NFL rosters.
