Milan Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of November 3
Last week, Milan had to deal with an internal matter. Giampaolo Pazzini had not been playing all that much, so his wife went on Instagram to vent her frustration, per Forza Italian Football.
She saw her husband working hard, not making a scene and getting little reward for his effort.
Needless to say, coach Pippo Inzaghi did not like to hear about this in public.
"I don’t need to throw anyone a bone, as I have many professional players who are all paid by Milan," Inzaghi said, per Football Italia. "Pazzini will play at the right moment."
Whether he is still playing for Milan after the January window is debatable, but two players with different characteristics could come in.
Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi and Fiorentina full-back Manuel Pasqual are two ideas the Rossoneri have in mind.
Let's take a look at this week's rumours.
Sampdoria Calling for Pazzini
1 of 3
Pazzini has only made five appearances this season, all as a substitute, for a scant total of 74 minutes of playing time. It's easy to understand why he might be a little upset, especially if the man instead of him (Fernando Torres) is hardly scoring goals himself.
Sampdoria, where Pazzini played two of the best seasons of his career, has emerged as an option.
Italian paper Leggo put out a report last Friday suggesting that the 30-year-old "will almost certainly depart the Rossoneri in January" (h/t Football Italia).
Pazzini's contract expires at the end of the season, and Milan could move him prematurely to avoid losing him for nothing.
Alessandro Matri, who has scored five goals so far on loan with Genoa, could then return.
Milan Asking for Illarramendi
2 of 3
Much like Pazzini, Illarramendi has struggled to nail down a spot in the starting XI at Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old midfielder has gained a reputation as Madrid's ultimate closer, with six of his seven appearances this season coming as a substitute.
Milan could lend him a chance to grow with a six-month loan deal, according to Italian outlet Corriere della Sera (h/t Forza Italian Football).
Illarramendi is a midfielder Milan could particularly use—someone who has defensive and technical abilities to control the game.
Milan could even get a little greedy and go for Isco as well, according to AS, and even Sami Khedira, but those two are likely unrealistic.
But such is the relationship with Real Madrid that Milan could pull off one of those deals.
Inzaghi Looking at Pasqual
3 of 3
Manuel Pasqual is a solid 32-year-old left-back with international experience and a contract running out.
Enter Milan.
According to Italian paper Tuttosport (h/t Football Italia), Inzaghi has identified Pasqual as the ideal option at full-back. Mattia De Sciglio has struggled to impose himself on the left flank, and Pasqual is probably the best Italian full-back at the moment.
"No words to describe how underrated Pasqual is, has been best LB in Serie A for awhile now IMO

"It's amazing how much better Pasqual is at crossing compared to most wing backs on Azzurri & Serie A's top teams
— David Amoyal (@DavidAmoyal) October 13, 2014"
Roma are also looking at the Serie A veteran.
