LeSean McCoy, Chris Polk's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 9

The Philadelphia Eagles managed to beat the Houston Texans on Sunday, and it was the elite play of running backs LeSean McCoy and Chris Polk that helped carry them to a victory.   

Starting quarterback Nick Foles went down early in the game with a shoulder injury, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Philadelphia leaned on the ground attack to alleviate the pressure on backup quarterback Mark Sanchez.

McCoy was the team’s primary weapon, running the ball 23 times for 117 yards on the ground, but Polk was used as the team’s goal-line back. He finished the day with eight carries for 50 yards and one touchdown.

For fantasy owners, McCoy continues to cement himself as an RB1 in every formatted fantasy league. Polk is still trying to find his role with the team, but he should be on the radar of fantasy players in deeper leagues as a possible goal-line touchdown vulture. He's also a handcuff for McCoy owners.

Darren Sproles has emerged as a target in the passing attack and less of a standard running back, but he is not worth a start unless you are in a deep point-per-reception league. Polk is the between-the-tackles back Philadelphia will lean on in short-yardage situations and would have RB2 value in the event of a McCoy injury.
