Fantasy owners with wide receivers Jeremy Maclin and Jordan Matthews had to be concerned about the injury to the starting quarterback, but backup Mark Sanchez entered the game and made an instant impact.

On Sanchez’s first drive, he went 3-of-3 for 69 yards and a touchdown, finding both Maclin and Matthews on the drive. It was Matthews who caught the touchdown pass.

Regardless of which QB is under center, Maclin is a must-start in every fantasy format. Whether it’s standard-scoring leagues or point-per-reception leagues, Maclin has emerged as a viable WR1 or WR2. Start him every week, even if Sanchez ends up seeing more time under center.

On the other hand, Matthews is a feast-or-famine fantasy player. He only had two touchdowns coming into Week 9, but his targets have continued to grow as the season progressed and is worth owning in all fantasy leagues.

Matthews should only be started as a flex during ideal matchups when other options are limited. The positive news is that he already showed a connection with Sanchez against Houston, so his outlook doesn't figure to change much regardless of which QB starts in the coming weeks.
