
NASCAR at Texas 2014: Live Results and Analysis from the AAA Texas 500
Jimmie Johnson wins at Texas!
Texas started off with Matt Kenseth in the lead but Jimmie Johnson would eventually steal the show.
By the time the second caution of the race came out at Lap 175 only 14 cars were on the lead lap as Johnson dominated the rest of the competition by the halfway mark of the race.
Texas continues to be a track full of green flag pit stops and one dominate driver; this year in the Chase it just happened to be Johnson.
Jimmie Johnson continued to lead for a good amount of the AAA Texas 500, but was challenged by his teammate, Jeff Gordon.
Gordon was the only driver on the track who was able to pass Johnson for the lead, but by Lap 245 Johnson took the lead back after a caution flag came out and the 48 team was able to get Johnson out ahead of the 24 car.
A caution around Lap 260 would help get Brad Keselowski to the front and with nothing to lose the 2 car held back Jeff Gordon and held onto the lead for several laps.
As the race started to come to an end, more caution flags came out and shuffled the 2 car backwards.
Jimmie Johnson eventually made his way toward the front but struggled to get passed the race leader, Kurt Busch.
Kasey Kahne spun out at Lap 313 and brought out another caution.
Jimmie Johnson would reclaim the lead when the field went back to green. As the race continued to come to an end though, Jeff Gordon took the lead and with three laps to go no one was catching up to the 24 car.
Until Clint Bowyer hit the wall and brought out the 12th caution of the race and brought out a green white checkered finish.
The first GWC ended with Jeff Gordon spinning out after he got into Keselowski racing for the lead.
The second GWC started with Johnson and Keselowski battling for the lead.
Johnson and Keselowski battled for the lead but Kevin Harvick would get into the 2 and slow him down while Johnson took the white flag at Texas!
