Brandon Knight Contract: Latest Buzz and Speculation on Negotiations with Bucks
Friday marks the final day that players drafted in 2011 will be eligible to sign contract extensions before July, and according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Milwaukee Bucks and point guard Brandon Knight won't be getting a new deal done:
Knight was drafted eighth overall by the Detroit Pistons, and after two years with the team, he found his way to Milwaukee.
The guard had a solid 2013-14 season with the Bucks, averaging 17.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game while shooting 42.2 percent from the floor. He led the team in points and assists.
It's unclear what Milwaukee was willing to offer the point guard, but Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wrote a reminder about the four-year, $32 million offer the Bucks made to Atlanta Hawks point guard Jeff Teague last year before acquiring Knight.
Should Knight keep his numbers up in the coming season, he should garner plenty of interest when he becomes a restricted free agent in July.
