Barcelona Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of November 3

Jason PettigroveNov 2, 2014

Barcelona edge ever closer to the January transfer window, no doubt hoping that their expensively assembled squad is kept together.

Given that it will be another year before any incoming transfers can be made, losing any players now could be detrimental to their chances of success this season.

After their second successive loss in La Liga, Barca need to keep focused on the job in hand.

However, the vultures are already circling.

Let's take a look at who is being linked out of the club. Remember to check back throughout the week for updates.

Marco Reus is ready to snub a move to the Premier League in favour of signing for Barcelona.

According to Ben Jefferson of the Daily Express, Borussia Dortmund's Reus will turn down any overtures from Manchester City and others in order to wait until January 2015 and a chance to sign for the Catalans.

Jefferson notes the players disappointment and not being signed in the 2014 summer window, but hopes that his patience will pay off with a dream move.

If reports are correct, Xavi Hernandez could be off to Japan.

According to Jamie Kemp of Inside Spanish Football, FC Tokyo are expected to make an offer for the players' services which would give him seven million euros per season in salary.

The Japanese league begins in March, at roughly the same time as MLS.

It remains to be seen when the offer will be forthcoming.

West Ham want to keep Alex Song.

It looks very much like Alex Song's future is back in the Premier League.

John Verrall of Here Is The City noted West Ham Co-Chairman David Sullivan's comments to Sky Sports News HQ:

"

Could he [Song] leave at the end of the season? Yes he could - loan players always can.

Barcelona paid £15m for him. You have to judge him over the season and I think Song has to judge West Ham over the season.

He loves England and his family loves London. We hope that we can conclude a deal to sign him but if we can't, we can't.

"

Song himself told the channel, via the Sky Sports website:

"

I think my future will be here.

My family, everyone is happy here. I’m very happy to come back to England.

I've always said if I move from Barcelona, I’ll come to England and my future is here anyway. I just want to enjoy playing at the moment and we’ll see what is happening at the end of the season.

According to Fichajes.net (Spanish) via Metro, Pedro has indicated to friends that he is willing to move to Arsenal in January after becoming disillusioned with his lack of minutes and role in the team.

Arsene Wenger has allegedly opened talks to sign the Spanish international, and the Gunners appear confident of getting their man.
