Yaya Toure remains doubtful for Sunday's Manchester derby clash after exiting Wednesday's Capital One Cup defeat to Newcastle United with a niggling injury.
Manuel Pellegrini recently suggested the Ivorian midfielder should make the date with Manchester United, as reported by City's official Twitter account:
Toure is reported to be suffering with a groin problem, per ESPN.co.uk. Although he has posted a plethora of underwhelming performances this season, the midfield colossus remains one of the Etihad side's most important players, particularly as David Silva has been ruled out of the home tie with a knee injury, as reported by Richard Tanner of the Daily Express.
City fans will hope Toure can brush off his issues in time for the upcoming showdown, which could see Pellegrini's team move seven points clear of their rivals.
